“A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one's neighbor — such is my idea of happiness.” ― Leo Tolstoy, Family Happiness

The Septic/Water Heater disaster
After the septic was put in it had to be hard wired or it would back up into our basement. Our electrician came and put a temporary patch on it. Had fun in Sioux Falls with my family and the boys came home exhausted. Braden began vomiting that evening. Put him in the shower to clean him up and realized there was no hot water. Went to the basement to find out why and discovered the septic had backed up into the basement! The septic guy came and discovered that the pipe he didn't like the look of when he inspected the work done by his crew is causing a blockage into the tank. So I had a kid vomiting and couldn't use the water or toilets. Every time puked I had to run the bowl outside to the spicket to rinse it out. I of course then could not wash the vomit filled blankets. He came back the next morning to fix it. We taught the boys how to go to the bathroom outside. It was an adventure. We still don't have any hot water. The bottom heating element was burned up so we replaced it. Kevin went to fill the heater back up and water started coming out of the top whole. So now we have to wait until Monday to get a hold of the COOP to replace or fix it because it at least has a lifetime warranty. My sister came to the rescue and let me shower at her house.
